Closing Event of “Learning the EU Chapters: Judiciary and Fundamental Rights Project”
13 December, 2013 - Ankara

On 13th of December 2013, Ecorys organized the closing event of “Learning the EU Chapters: Judiciary and Fundamental Rights Project” which is supported by the British Embassy under the Reuniting Europe Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and Union of Turkish Bar Associations.

Although the aim of the project is to reach 350 lawyers in 7 pilot provinces via the trainings on EU judiciary practices with a focus on fundamental rights, the actual number of lawyers is much higher than the targeted level. After the seventh programme in Trabzon, approximately 500 lawyers have trained within the scope of the project. The lawyers will also have the opportunity to examine the EU practices in the area and to establish network with their colleagues in the UK through a study visit, and also through a handbook and website prepared specifically for the area of justice and fundamental rights.
