Wings for Life World Run
04 May, 2014 - Alanya, Antalya

A dream came true: to make the world run as one across continents, nationalities and timezones: 35.397 people ran for those who can't. Runners around the globe, encompassing 34 locations, ran at the same time all around the world.

The format of the event was unique, different than in all sporting events. Every runner started running knowing they would finish, but not knowing when. The finish line chased them, rather than them running towards it. Half an hour after the start an official Catcher Car set off at each course, pursued the runners. When the Catcher Car passed a runner, their race was over and it was time to catch the shuttle back to start area and celebrate the victory.

In Turkey, the Wings for Life World Run took place in Alanya, Antalya. Ecorys in Turkey participated to this spectacular event with a team of 14, over 1000 runners. We're proud of running for those who can't, raising funds and awareness to help find a cure for spinal cord injuries. 3 million has been raised in overall and 100% of the proceedings went to Wings for Life Foundation, a not-for-profit, working for spinal cord research. The journey will continue next year on 3rd May 2015. Come and join us.
